PARTNERSHIP RESIDENCY PROGRAM: Johnnie Cruise Mercer

The Petronio Residency Center welcomes Johnnie Cruise Mercer/TheREDprojectNYC to Round Top! PRC is a retreat in which to study, work, and experiment while cut loose from the overbearing pressures inherent in a choreographer’s day-to-day living. Johnnie Cruise Mercer/TheREDprojectNYC is the second resident in PRC’s Community Partnership Program. The residency is commissioned by NYC presenter, Danspace Project, through an alliance with the New York State DanceForce.

Mercer and TheREDprojectNYC are “deeply invested in facilitating live performance experiences that challenge reality, and embrace the concept of perspicacious seeing.” They are passionate about creating welcoming spaces to discuss and create dances about issues impacting their lives.
