Alessandra Larson

Alessandra has worked with Stephen Petronio Company since January 2016. A member of the NYC arts community for over 15 years, Alessandra’s career includes extensive work developing and managing grant-funded projects; initiating and cultivating key relationships with artists, donors, press, and venues; providing clear and consistent communication and administrative leadership. Larson graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Washington University in St. Louis, with degrees in Psychology and Dance, and holds a M.A. from Teachers College/Columbia University, where she studied Conflict Resolution and Social Justice/Peace Education. Producing credits include, among others: “Breaking Ground: A Dance Charrette,” a site-based experience at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, NY; and “Check Your Body at the Door,” a documentary film about House dancers in NYC in the 1990s, translated into nine languages. Managerial experience includes work with independent dance artists, Danspace Project, and Florida State University’s “FSU in NYC” program for undergraduate and graduate dance students. She has taught dance to all ages, performed internationally and throughout NYC, and currently tours as Virginia Poe in Thaddeus Phillips’ “Red-Eye to Havre de Grace,” a devised musical-theater production that premiered at New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) in Spring 2014.
