Fischerspooner is a collaborative art and performance project created by Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner that makes music, dance, fashion, film and photography. After their 1998 debut at the Astor Place Starbucks, early shows at P.S. 1’s Warm-Up series and a staging within Rikrit Tiravanija’s “Apartment 21” installation let to a series of acclaimed marathon gallery performances at Gavin Brown’s enterprise, in 2000 and at Deitch Projects, in 2002. Their music has been released on two full-length albums, #1 and Odessey, and the underground hit “Emerge” cracked the UK Top 40. Fischerspooner have headlined clubs and festivals across the United States and Europe. In 2005, they had a summer-long residency at Ibiza’s Man-U-Mission, the largest nightclub in the world. Casey appeared in the Wooster Group production Hamlet, for which Fischerspooner contributed two original songs composed to excerpts of Shakespeare’s text.
