STEPHEN PETRONIO COMPANY AT NYU SKIRBALL
April 11 - April 13$55 – $65
Stephen Petronio Company is proud to present their NY Season with the world premiere of Stephen Petronio’s American Landscapes. The dance will be a series of shifting pastoral, emotional and social canvases that reflect the complicated beauty that coexists in these United States. American Landscapes is a collaboration curated by Jill Brienza, with the musical duo of Jozef Van Wissem and Jim Jarmusch, visual design by New York artist Robert Longo.
For our 5th iteration, Bloodlines will acquire two new works: Coverage Revisited (1970), by Rudy Perez, one of the singular artists of color of the Judson Dance Theatre and an artist largely excluded from the dominant postmodern history; and Tread (1970), a third work by Merce Cunningham, which solidifies SPC’s position as the sole American modern dance company with the ability to perform a full-evening Cunningham program.
