LARISSA ASEBEDO (Dancer) (she/they) grew up in Colorado before graduating with honors from the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase. While cherishing her roots and homeland, she remains based in NYC where she has been devoted to the body as both instrument and guide for the past eight years. Asebedo has performed works by Trisha Brown, Kyle Abraham, Merce Cunningham, Karole Armitage, Ohad Naharin, Kensaku Shinohara, Suzzanne Ponomarenko, and Elizabeth Dishman. She also teaches dance to kids and teens, valuing time in the studio with the next generation and often setting her own choreographic works. She joined Stephen Petronio Company in 2020. She is honored to be part of the Company’s closing season.
