Stephen Petronio at Marfa Sounding: Anna Halprin Summer Studios

On May 27th Stephen Petronio will participate in Marfa Sounding: Anna Halprin Summer Studios, a three-day festival co-presented by Marfa Live Arts and Fieldworks Marfa. An Evening with Stephen Petronio will include Petronio’s performance of Anna Halprin’s solo The Courtesan and the Crone (1999), a Q&A with the audience, and a screening of short film by Kevin Hayden, Between Stephen and Yvonne (2017). The Courtesan and the Crone, a solo about female aging and sexuality, was selected by Halprin herself to be a part of Petronio’s Bloodlines initiative that presents the works of the postmodern master who influenced his artistic path.
