How is time traced in the body? Groundbreaking choreographer Stephen Petronio and scholar and performer Richard Move revive dance history, each in his own way: Petronio, through Bloodlines, a five-year project to honor his artistic connection to dance masters including Trisha Brown, Merce Cunningham, and Yvonne Rainer; Move through Martha@…, his performances as Martha Graham. Move will interview Petronio on themes of transmission, iconography, Catholicism, sexuality, gender, and design. Video excerpts from these Bessie-Award winning artists’ repertory will be shared. Move is currently authoring an essay on Petronio for the forthcoming book, Ally – Janine Antoni, Anna Halprin and Stephen Petronio, edited by Adrian Heathfield.
